    Can pushups get your chest real big?

    My friend don't go to the gym or have a weight set or take any supplments... He told me he do like 120 pushups a night...

    He told me he do close,regular and wide... and im not gay or anything but he got a good chest... off pushups i seen him when he was a birdie... soo....

    He also said somethin about stand-up pushups too...

    Genetics has a lot to do with it too. Naturally I have a big chest but I can't bench press much for my size.
    However, I don't think push ups will make your chest any bigger. That's my two cents.
    Truth is so obscure in these times, and falsehood so established, that, unless we love truth, we cannot know it.

    yes I heard they can actually.. Everything helps... try it and find out

    But most of the people I have talked to say that doing pushups is a great workout for the tris and the chest. Best of luck!

    It's great for muscular endurance. But as far as getting huge pecs from body-weight pushups... i don't see it happening.

    It's good for endurance, and before going to the beach. A few nights ago I did 175 pushups.... 75, 10 second rest, 50, 10 sec rest, 50, and then went to take a shower and I noticed a crapload of blood went to my chest and shoulders, I looked so much bigger then I actually am becuase there was so much blood in there. Once summer comes I'm ganna make sure I do this right before I go to the beach

    to grow you need to introduce an overlaod to the muscle.

    endurance overload induces significantly less growth than resistance overload.

    its going to take u a mighty high amount of endurance to make that chest grow even half an inch.

    so in short. No.

    Put simply....

    I serious doubt any pro bodybuilder does pushups. So if you want to be a massive bodybuilder, then push-ups aren't the best route. On the other hand, they are effective if you want to become stronger, gain endurance, and be a better athlete.

    So yes, they're very beneficial and will help you get bigger and stronger. But all by themselves, they're not going to transform your physique or anything.

    I've been doing 100 push-ups a night for about a month now and ive seen pretty good gains but they're starting to get easier so ima add weight to my back. Everyone is different tho.

    Nah I do about 10-20 push-ups every minute so when I do push-ups it takes about 6-10mins to get in 100. And thats good considering only 6-10mins can get you a better upper body.
