Mother Teresa-The atheist
"For me, the silence and the emptiness is so great, that I look and do not see,?Listen and do not hear-the tongue moves but does not speak." "Such deep longing for God-and - repulsed-empty-no faith-no love-no zeal.-[The saving of] Souls holds no attraction?Heaven means nothing." "What do I labor for? If there be no God-there can be no soul-if there is no Soul then Jesus-You also are not true."
"So many unanswered questions live within me afraid to uncover them-because of the blasphemy-If there be God-please forgive me-When I try to raise my thoughts to Heaven-there is such convicting emptiness that those very thoughts return like sharp knives and hurt my very soul.-I am told God loves me-and yet the reality of darkness and coldness and emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul. Did I make a mistake in surrendering blindly to the Call of the Sacred Heart?"

lol that doesn't say she's an atheist, it says she struggled with her faith... as I'm sure most believers do at some times in their lives.

Those quotes make it sound like she lost her faith. I doubt she did though, and I also don't give a **** either way.

I am guessing the point of this thread is to point attention to a nice little old lady and accuse her of being an atheist to disprove Christianity because hey, will she go to hell even if she did all of those nice things? If she truly was an atheist she will not go to heaven.

Judging by the quotes given by the OP and what I've seen and heard about her lately, she wasn't atheist. She was agnostic.

its difficult to believe in a kind, caring and benevolent god when you are surrounded by starvation, disease, poverty and misery...even for mother theresa!
imagine how much the poor woman prayed to her god and received nothing in return...saw no improvement, only worsening of the conditions she was trying to alleviate!

God allows things like that to happen so we turn to him instead of things of this world. When you lose everything in this world, you have nothing but your faith in God. That is why it is hard for rich people to accept Christ. They think they have everything they need. We come into this world with nothing and we leave with nothing.

Sam Harris wrote a good article about this. I especially like his closing lines.

Ask yourself, when even the doubts of experts are thought to confirm a doctrine, what could possibly disconfirm it?

Not only did she see it worsen, but she contributed to it. "Mother" Teresa is a despicable human being, it's no wonder she had such a nice relationship with the catholic church who is known for cuddling criminals and persecuting victims.
Can someone tell me why the media insists on keeping all of "mother" Teresa's evil deeds hidden? I know it sucks to be fooled by someone but let the world know who the real Teresa is. She's the opposite of what she portrayed.
She was just a money hungry and power filled heifer.

According to Mother Teresa's bizarre philosophy, it is "the most beautiful gift for a person that he can participate in the sufferings of Christ". Once she tried to comfort a screaming sufferer: "You are suffering, that means Jesus is kissing you!"

Coming from someone that didn't believe in Jesus. ****er, if there's a hell, she's burning in it right now.

suffering brings healing. you might not understand, but who cares? The best way to show your love for someone is to suffer for them.

Telling someone that's in pain due to a disease and her fraudulent medical practices that Jesus' kisses are what's causing it, even though she doesn't believe that Jesus exists is justifiable? Blasphemy.

rofl.
I remember my mom watching TV hearing about this ****. She's a hardcore Catholic although she's starting to have doubts about it since I took her to watch Religulous and I've been teaching her ****.
When she was watching it, she was like, hang on what happened with her??
I was like, um looks like she's about to become an Atheist. Then I looked at my mom and LULZD. My mom looked at me funny.
It was a joyous day. LULZ.
