Would eating oatmeal as a night snack (9PM) be a good choice to go with, or should I just stick with some trail mix portions?
btw, is white bread bad for mass?

um, oatmeal b4 bed, would certainly add mass, but not necissarly muscle mass. I forgot where i read it but eating carbs b4 bed can make the body become catabolic during sleep. And lastly i recommend dairy products like milk and cottage cheese b4 bed because it will "protect" the muscles since dairy products have casein protein.
If it aint hurtin it aint workin.

I would reccoment cottage cheese before bed instead of oatmeal. you wan't a slow digesting protein before bed, not necessarily carbs like in oatmeal. These excess cards that your body does not burn off will be stored as fat. Oatmeal is not ideal before bed.

I don't see why oatmeal would be something you would wan't to eat before bed.

Insulin sensitivity is lower at night, meaning carbs will be more likely to be stored as fat. So no oatmeal or milk. Also, oatmeal digests too quickly to be good at this time, and is too calorie dense. Personally, I eat cottage cheese, spinach, and some good fats, usally fish oil.

If you want to gain mass, of any kind, you need to eat!!! I usually eat about 2 hours before bed, having a bowl of cottage cheese, sometimes mixing in some oats and raisins, washing it down with some skim milk. This mixes some complex carbs from oats, simple carbs from raisins, quick digesting whey from the cottage cheese, and the slow digesting casein from the milk. I'm bulking, so food is my friend, and I love it! If you're bulking...eat...eat...eat...and enjoy!

-Bench- 115 goal 135
If it's easy, it's pointless. That goes for eating too. KEEP EATING

I've been eating 2 cups of oatmeal with a teaspoon of cinnamon and sweetened with honey + 30g isolate + 1 banana or avocado + 1 tablespoon of peanut butter before bed and seeing massive gains. Oatmeal increases melatonin production and produces a better sleep. Cinnamon and honey are loaded with antioxidants and help with inflammation and cinnamon helps manage blood sugars. I hit Gold's in a fasted state first thing in the morning. 6 A.M. 30 grams Isolate right after. Then a massive breakfast at 7:45 4 eggs, 2 French toast, 3 slices bacon, 1 1\2 cups oatmeal and 2 bananas. I begin my day as a carpenter burning calories all day working. I Eat a peanut butter sandwich at 10 A.M. and then lunch at 12:30. Snack at 3:30 and dinner at 6. Then back to the late night TRUE! MASS GAINER THAT DOESNT COST YOU 75$ a month. Stop wasting your money on that crap and start eating Oatmeal if you truly want to add muscle weight. Before this diet I weighed in at 180lbs 6'2'' was cut and had muscle. After 4 months of this diet I'm now 195lbs and bigger than ever. Oh and Cannabis is a bonus recovery agent.
The endocannabinoid system has been shown to have a homeostatic role by controlling several metabolic functions, such as energy storage and nutrient transport. It acts on peripheral tissues such as adipocytes, hepatocytes, the gastrointestinal tract, the skeletal muscles and the endocrine pancreas. It has also been implied in modulating insulin sensitivity. Through all of this, the endocannabinoid system may play a role in clinical conditions, such as obesity, diabetes, and atherosclerosis, which may also give it a cardiovascular role.[59]Last edited by Saxonbrute; 11-12-2023 at 09:43 PM.
