I think it would depend on what you were taking. Some products break down into something more potent I believe when undergoing first pass. It has been theorized that it is actually a metabolite of dbol that is actually so anabolically potent. This product would have the same functionality as eating grapefruit I believe.
Tiger who?

DHB (6,7-dihydroxybergamottin) is a furanocoumarin found in grapefruit (and subsequently grapefruit juice).
I know grapefruit juice intact does act as an orally-administered substance-amplifier, in that it inhibits presystemic drug metabolism mediated by CYP P450 3A4. I'm not sure if DHB can do it by itself however--there are other flavanoids in grapefruit that seems to work synergistically with DHB in suppressiong cytochrome-system metabolizaiton of drugs.
According to "Grapefruit juice and drugs: a hazardous combination?" [translated from French] by Lohezic-Le Devehat et. al., they administered patients 42 different drugs either with grapefruit juice or without, and found that of the 42 all but 12 were metabolized differently when administered with GFJ. But another study I saw showed that when just bergamottin was administered, they found it not correlated with CYP P450 inhibition.
I general I'm pretty sure that DHB would only be able to affect the hydroxylation reactions involved in steroid hormone metabolism. However, it still would not have any influence on the oxidoreductases, which, according to PA, "are by far the most important pathways for deactivation of androgens."
So my guess is DHB might improve the oral bioavailability of steroids, particularly methylated ones.
Now grapefruit juice on the other hand? Grapefruit juice can be kind of fun...It seems these poets have nothing up their ample sleeves...
