We had a baby!!

Well, our mare did!! This morn i went out to bring her outside for the day, and there was a newborn, only about 20 mins old!!! What a great way to start my St.Patricks day!! He is happy and healthy, and mom is doin great!!! Yay, im an auntie!!!

YAY! Although to me you're now considered a grand-mum (my horses are my babies)!

I love foals - they are the cutest most silly things around! Anything they can chew, sniff, or get caught in is fair game for them!

Is he/she up and suckling now (I would imagine so - it has been about an hour since you posted)? Have you got a name ready yet? What colour/markings?

i want a horse so bad. but i have soooooo much research and learning to do before that happens. and also i have to move back to the states and get a house with alot of land and build a stable,etc,etc. ill probably be 40 by the time i get one, if i ever do.

Aww! Congrats! I love animals, and I have always wanted a horse. I used to ride when I was younger every summer. Don't they make the cutest little babies- they are so awkward in the beginning it is so cute! Did you name it?

I love horses. I tried riding one once, but I didn't know how to "steer" him. Luckily, he knew the route and I just held on!

My husband used to hang out at the race track (when he was a kid) cause his mother worked with the horses there.

oh how i wish he was mine!! but unfortunately he is my bosses..but he isnt named yet..he is born in the L year for his breed, and being born on St.Patricks day..Irish names are floating around..Limerick, and a few others..He is so adorable..running around when hes not snoozin or eating..and he was checked by the vet today, and he has so many antibodies from the tubin he got, and mommas milk, that he is being dubbed Clark Kent!!lol
He is already for sale

for 100,000!! man, just think what he will be worth when hes trained!! hes destined for the show ring, competing on the USET(united states equestrian team) so he has lots to live up to!!
I will post some pix as soon as i get them developed(i dont have a digi)

Oh and to those that want horses..u dont need the farm, if u live in an area that has boarding stables..i will be in the city, and have my horse out about 45 mins away, but worth every min that i spend with her!!

haha, i feel the same way..its gonna be hard to move back to the city in 4 weeks, im gonna cry for sure, that and leaving my cat here

His moms dam is Hotline, out of Calato and her sire is Cash. She tied for first Place at her verband inspection with a 52, one of the highest scores in the US that year.

I'm quite familair with Linaro. I strongly considered him when I was thinking about leasing a mare a few years ago for breeding. He's a a nice match for an older style, stockier mare if you're trying to get something leggier.

He sounds like he has very impressive breeding for showjumping!

Yes, his mom is a stockier "old school" type, so they wanted to refine her baby. And yes my boss is into showjumping..lol, thats neat that u know the lines, i am very impressed with them. If i had the money to breed my TB, it would def be to one of the verbands horses no doubt about it..what type of horses, if any, do u have now?

I had an Oldenburg gelding that I sold before I moved to the US, and I mostly trained clients horses and taught a few lessons. I also leased a TB gelding for a few years and when I was younger had a couple QH's. Right now I'm horseless and living in Vegas, and dying to get back into the business again.

If you're looking to breed your mare down the road, I would highly suggest another one of the Germany-based stallions, Cassini, or Corrado I that Fox Fire offers. I've seen some spectactular jumpers come out of that linage when crosses with a TB.

Yes, all Foxfires horses are amazing, i watched an older video the other night, and was crying, because they are so magnificent. One of the other mares is being bred to Carrado as we speak actually, and my boss was just over in germany to choose her stallion. She said Coraddo is the gentlest stallion she has ever known, she was in his stall, put his blanket on, and he was just the sweetest thing..Lucky girl i tell ya..but then again, i am pretty lucky to, to be here right now..i really gonna miss it when i leave in a few weeks

I hope one day u can get back into the horse world, i was out of it for 10 yrs, and i dont really know how i made it through, well, i guess thats why i bought a horse sized dog..lol, a 130 lb mastiff..i guess that was my way of havin as close to horse size as i could in the city..lol

I was out of it six years. My mom always used to say "you can take the girl out of the country, but you cant take the country out of the girl". I just started training in dressage and it realy is great exercise! I hope the two of you can find your way back to the horse world soon, I understand how much you can miss it!

Yes your mom is very right!! I am very much still in the horse world now, i own a 7 yo TB that i do dressage and jump with. And yes it is great exercise!!
I took one of the other horses for a gallop today, and it was so fun just to run on a trail, no letters, or worrying bout where her haunches are, or if shes using herself right, just us and and the open trail! OH WHAT FUN!!

We have 22 miniatures that we drive and show halter. My riding horse is an Arab ( he was a gift) I just took a pic the other day when it quit raining and I turned him out.

Mini's are the cutest things i have ever had the pleasure of being around!! My old barn breeds them as well..and they are just so darn cute i want to cuddle them!!! I would love to see some pix of them if u have any...

I've had him for two months now. A friend of mine rescued him and hes put on quite a bit of wieght since. His background is western pleasure and training level dressage ( wich he would rather be doing ). We went to one schooling show and took seventh over all, not bad for both of us being out of it for so long! Arabs usually dont do well in dressage, but his movement is spectacular!

I've actually seen quite a few Arabs do well in lower level dressage. If you're not planning on going past the Medium levels, they often do just fine. The biggest problem they usually face is weak loins so collection and extentions are difficult.

I believ Lendon Gray rode an Arab cross to the Grand Prix level years ago, so it is possible!
