Personally, my biggest calorie wise is probably my breakfast shake (usually a hour or 2 before WO). My second biggest is my PWO meal about an hour after I WO(of course I have a PWO shake just after the WO). My thinking is along the lines of hitting the anabolic window. I then taper off the next 3-4 meals until I get to my pre-bedtime shake.
I don't know how long you've been doing this, but you reach a point after a few months you can "read" your body and it's needs. If your body needs more, you'll know it. Just don't pig out on pizza and cheeseburgers all the time (it'd be great if we could though).
