Incline Flies: A worthy upper chest exercise?

Yeah, the title says it all... I'm thinking about doing these with incline bench or DB presses because I need some upper chest work. What do you guys think?

I don't know why, but the title struck me as funny. Sounds like Middle English or something.

Yes, me lad, truly worthy of use!!

Anyway, I always do them. I like them on a 10-20 degree incline, along with incline DB presses.

I have heard that flys are mainly a stretching exercise done AFTER your WO to stretch the muscles. If you're trying to build mass nothing will do it like barbell presses!

Personally, I dont think you can beat DB presses, but as I work out alone, I have to settle for BB presses.
I also use flys as a finishing/stretching movement.

Thumbs up You found my secret!!

Incline flys have been the SECRET to me.

When I hit the groove my chest gets the most intense workout ever. Perfect form is key. Whole keeping the elbows bent and the stress on the chest for the whole excercise is vital.

    Awesome

pec dec or cables flies are better in my opinion, because of the resistants through the entire move. not only in the bottom stretching position. DB Flies are also a great exercise though.

incline flies with heavy db are a good movement IMO
you get a better stretch and full contraction...
its just as beneficical as going regular flies flat or decline, it just will work a bit differently on the chest due to the incline

I used an incline fly/incline bb press superset first in my routine (after a very good warm up of course) when my upper pecs started to lag, and it brought them up nicely. I'd say they are definately worthy of use.

I'd say to gvie them a try if you haven't, changing the exercises, and therefore the stimulas to a muscle often enough (the exact amount of time varies alot from person to person) is an important part of making good gains over time.

The true test is if they work for you though. Try them, have someone watch your form the first few times if possible to make sure you have them right. If they work for you, then keep them, if not then don't.

Inclines flyes are awesome if done with perfect form and moderate weight that allowes full ROM

I like to start off with incline DB press, then move on to pec deck and incline flyes, followed by flat DB press

At first incline flies feel weird but once you get into the right groove it's great, and really works
