Can you mix your whey protein with coffee?
At work I don't want anybody to know that I use protein powder so I put the whey in my mug, without letting anyone see it, and then I go to the coffee machine and fill it with coffee. It tastes pretty awesome. Is it okay to mix whey with coffee or could this somehow decrease the effectiveness of it? What if the coffee is too hot? Could the whey be denaturized?

ughhh...sounds disgusting
anyway if i remember correctly the heat may denaturize the proteins but that really dosnt matter, the amino acids are still there and thats what your body needs

You may diminish the biologically active / immunological properties of the protein by doing so. But in the end, you probably won't notice a difference ...

I guess you could use that instead of a non-dairy creamer.

Doesn't your protein lump up when you mix it with hot liquid?
That's what always happened to me the few times I've tried it (and with different brands).

You have to stir but the ON whey is very soluble and it's not a problem if you stir enough.

I recently tried a new protein mix that's actually designed to be mixed into hot coffee. It's called Javanu. You should try it. It tastes great.

Why don't you want people at work to know your taking whey protein... do you work with a bunch of those "everything is steroids" type of people?

Don't use hot hot coffee, but I think you are safe thow because the temperature would have to be hot enough to burn your mouth to denaturize whey...
Morning drink for me: cup of warm coffee mix in cookies and cream iso whey(mixes the best this whey), cup of water and ice...off to work
I think you have other issues though besides the whey, if you don't want people to know what you are doing, personally I just tell people I am addicted to milk shakes
