anyone taken the NASM test? (reps)

I'm taking mine this upcoming Friday and there is supposedly a sample one online but it didn't work for me. For those who are NASM certified, how hard is it? Are they really picky about minute details? Or should I not kill myself studying every little thing. I would rather not overstudy, but I certainly don't want to fail from understudying.

REPS for any tips

Took mine back in 03. It was pretty hard in my opinion....the practical was the hard part for me. Tip? Make sure you know how to think the way they (NASM) want you to. It's a great certification in my opinion, I'd encourage you to make the most of it. I kinda rushed through my course....at the same time I didn't think it made me a better trainer per se. I don't believe certifications make the trainer in any sort of way.

There was a big multiple choice section, then there was like a practical section of three case studies. They give you three clients, their goals and problems and have you fill out like a workout plus something else. Figuring out the routine wasn't the problem for me, it was understanding HOW they wanted me to put it on the test. I passed, and consider myself a competent trainer...just that part of the test kind of confused me because I wasn't sure on HOW they wanted me to do it. My recommendation is definitely do the practice test. I didn't and paid for it.

the entire test is multiple choice. i HIGHLY RECOMMEND going online and taking the practice test before you do any more studying. i studied my ass off and then when i took the practice tests i realized i was completely unprepared..PM if you need more info I passed less than a year ago so I know whats on it..

i got a 82% on the practice test when I was on chapter 12.. Ive also read that the practice test has absolutely nothing to do with the actual test.. im getting ready to take mine.. i got one more chapter to go then study everything that i think i need improvement on.. the only thing i really need to work on is understanding more about the stabilization phase of the opt. Are these tests 1x a month? and what does the test mainly consist of?
