One arm olympic lift

Seen some old pics of one arm olympic lifts, the reasons why that sport was withdrawn is a bit obscure, but how much do you think could be lifted with a one arm lift nowdays?? Remember that the non-lifting arm was not allowed to support the body.

Probably as much and more than they did back. And I'm not sure what you mean by "not allowed to support the body," because in all the contests and records I've read they were allowed to use the off hand to push off the knee. Armand Tanny sometime in the 50's or around there ONE arm cleaned a barbell of 300 pounds. The one arm snatch record is 254, clean and jerk is 260 or so I believe. And the swing is around 220.

I love DB olympic lifts. Easier to learn compared to BB oly lifts. Plus, its a fun change. I noticed a big increase when I rotate DBs, BBs, and kettlebells with my lifts. Personally , I never see anyone else do at my gym....So who knows

Dumbell lifts using olympic mehtods such as clean or snatch rock, atleast I always find it alot harder to do...why would they have gotten rid of it? Is it to do with the posture of the back?
