    Dodgeball!.... my arm hurts..

    I've been playing on a dodgeball team for the last few weeks. After each nite of dodgeball.. my arm is extremely sore. I have a pretty intense pain just above the elbow for a few days. It hurts to lift biceps during those days.

    I have a sort of side arm throw...

    Is there any way to strengthen my arm and make it mroe suitable for throwing a dodgeball?

    This is a common problem in baseball and it is due to poor mechanics. When you throw sidearm, you put alot of stress on the elbow. Try to come over the top when you throw. That and rest is about all you can do.

    Definitely ice and fix your mechanics. Try three-quarters or over the top. Sidearm is a ticket to pain.


    I wish they had dodgeball leagues around my area, although maybe there are some around here and I am too lazy to look. In college I am definitely joining a dodgeball intramural club. That and coed water polo... you can guess why.

    Im on a dodgeball team too and I have the same pain. Im good for about 5 games then *snap* sore as fuk, cuzz....

    well i go from work to the gym then to my game at night. So yea, I get warmed up. I dont have very good mechanics and throwing a volleyball sized object isnt the easiest.

    I posted this 5 years ago.


    My arm hurt until I stopped playing dodgeball. I never found anything that helped. I just had poor mechanics I believe.


    I haven't played dodgeball since probably '05 when I posted this... :P
