Ok there you have it. A friend of mine has totaled just shy of 2000 pounds raw at 200 pounds I commented on it in another thread and instead of jacking that thread forever I just made this. Why is this so hard for people to believe? He does it at a meet every year and you can check the meet results for yourself. My own theory about why he isnt recognized is because he is an advocate of raw lifting and a "certain meet holder" doesnt like that. In fact no one even cheers for him as he hits parallel with 750 and a belt My point is there are good lifters out there that are fed up with politics and just dont care if their names are on PLing USA or not
Here are the results and you guessed it........no pics cause everyone hates on him. The meet was posted in PLUSA and no pics of him there. But when the meet holder benches 1000+ you bet the cameras are there (sorry TMI)

1770 is quite a lot shy of 2000... but its still VERY IMPRESSIVE!
According to this- http://www.rawpowerlifting.com/pdf/R...nStandards.pdf he's getting just over the elite raw total for a 275lber and hes only 198lbs!!!I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength- Philippians 4:13

the funniest thing you mentioned was him being a raw advocate and then doing a IPA meet...just too funny... also just because he lifts raw doesn't mean he does not get recognized. if and when he does pull off a 2000 or near 2000 total in a sanctioned meet at his weight or even 198, trust me he will get the recognition he deserves. I suggest him going raw in a USPF meet. It is untested and the judging is somewhat strict most of the time, especially compared to the IPA. Actually any fed is more strict then the IPA! hahaa... good luck to him...very strong.
Also to say he was shy of a 2000 total is quite a exaggeration. I can see if he actually did hit his 750 on squat and deadlift, but the fact of the matter is he didn't. It's like saying Brian Siders was shy of a 2400+ raw total because he has the potential of a 900 lb raw squat, 650+ raw bench, and 850+ raw deadlift. The fact is no one cares unless it was done in a sanctioned meet. If that wasn't the case everyone would talk about rick weil's 600 @ 200 raw bench or greg warr's 533 @ 133 shirted bench way before the new age shirts...
Also what does testing positive for roids have to do with competing? so much untested federations out there...don't make excuses for him...he's obviously very strong, he just needs to do it!...if he ever does another raw meet i'll be interested on what he puts up...keep us posted if/when it happens...and i'm assuming you know him personally since it's your friend...tell him uspf! or anything but ipa! haha...The Percepta @ 165ah

Perceptionist:
He did total 1885 in a sanctioned meet thats why I said it. Its within 150 as far as the books and they called him on the squat for (ironically enough) DEPTH when the dudes donnin leviathans were 6 inches high He pulled 750 above his knees and dropped it much like Bolton did his last one. It was his third attempt because they said his first 700 "wasnt locked out". Haters man Ill definitely tell him to check out USPF.
I def. plan on taking pictures at the next meet. You gotta see this guys legs He weighs 200 pounds but hes like 5'6" and waddles like a duck cause his legs are hyooge.

I was a spectator at that meet. I definitley remember his name so I must have been realitivley impressed. I did not remember him being raw but if Strong says he was I am sure he was. With that said there was NOBODY in the 198ers at that meet that would beat those numbers raw. Those are great raw numbers. I will say that I was a tad bit disapponited with the judging, sorta scewed some of the numbers.

You werent there. The reference to "hating" was leaning more towards the fact that they were patting people on the back for squatting 300 pounds in a hardcore, and then this guy drops deep with 750 and a belt and no one even applauds. He walks rights past Gene with 3 white lights and no slap on the back, no good job dave man. There is obviously some bad blood there and maybe its Ralphs fault too. Who knows but it sure looks like "hatin" to me
