To Shave or Not to Shave?
Wonder how many guys on the over 35 forum get grief from their wives/significant others if they shave their body hair?
My wife hates it when I shave my chest and stomach - anyone else have this problem?

Hey enigma 60.....
My wife has mildy commented on this and wouldn't like it if I did.
Personally, I would never consider it but I get the impression that if one is 'competing' that shaving bodyhair would be protocol?
Have a great day all.

i have that problem too. I never shaved before until last May that i did. My wife didnt like it cuz she "likes hairy men chest". Well i shaved and explained to her why i shaved. She now fine with it. She told me the other day, she can see better defined body on me, and she likes it.

My wife loves that I shave. She looks at other guys with their hairy fat-covered bodies and tells me how lucky she is to have me. (...and that makes me lucky to have her.)

My wife is kind of two faced, about this. On the 1 hand she hates helping me in areas I cant reach(mainly back), complains the entire time she is doing it. Now on the other hand, I am a hairy(I'm talking Robin Williams, silverback gorilla hairy) so she likes it when I'm groomed at the pool, beach etc.. especially when you see the guys who dont take care of themselves and they have hair connected from the back of the head down the back to thier ass. I have'nt done my legs yet, kind of nervouse about doing that one still.

Yep, I get **** about shaving my chest and stomach too. Though he's getting used to it. He does my back, and often tells me when I'm due for a shearing. I do my arms and shoulders regularly. Some guys look great with a bit of frontal hair... I don't.

I'd only do my legs if I were competing. And since I've got a better chance of playing Dinosaur Polo...
Only once, being bored to death and before the beach we shaved everything. And I do mean everything... the only hair I had was eyelashes and eyebrows. I looked like one of those little space aliens... or a nine year old boy.

I only have the 'frontal chest hair' and she likes it.
If I looked like a 'Wookie' I think my wife would think differently though.

I have actually been trimming my chest hair. I haven't had the guts to try and shave. I'm afraid of slicing a nipple off. That just sounds to painful. Ouch!

I did once for a contest a loooong time ago. I didn't like the feel of no hair on my legs, and also didn't care for the itchy growing in process.

I'm very very fortunate (imo) to have pretty much no chest/stomach hair. At all.
The hair on my arms is blonde, and the hair on my legs is light brown, so it kinda looks like I do in fact shave my entire body! LOL

I used to trim for years untill I started competing. My chest hairs, and I'm not exagerating, will grow about 5" or 6"!!! They would worm their way through my sweaters or shirts and actually have people think they were loose hairs and pick them!! OUCH! It is really bad cause all my body hair is white!
Last year started laser treatments and it has made a huge difference. Only 5 or 6 more to go! Hurts like hell. Started this cause I would get ingrown hairs and rash out terribly! !

I have very little body hair which is fair, so not noticable. The chest hair I have mostly appeared in the last few years when I started moving big weights! Ah, testosterone!

I'll never have to worry about it....cause it's never gonna happen to this guy . Besides, it's enough having to shave my face every day. My body? You gotta be ****tin' me

My wife complains too when I shave. She's cool with it for a day or two but then it starts to poke her. I shave about twice a year but mostly in the beginning of summer so I can get a tan on my front side. Ever try to tan through a damn mink coat?

I got carried away trimming before vacation a few weeks ago and decided that it looked too cheesy and just shaved it all off (chest). I have very little to start with, but it was definitely different. My wife liked it at first but wants it back now.
It was a pain keeping it shaved on vacation - chest stubble was unacceptable and I was surprised how fast it grows back...

meh , 44 , reporting in for ear hair patrol ...
i shave everything (back , chest, shoulders,) i dont mind chest hair , but it looks funny when i shave the back and shoulder and i have a weed-wacker looking line of death no fly zone between the shaved vs unshaved areas .
i wear tank tops so its a public service to shave down . hate the whispered comments of " why is that dude wearing a tank top over a mohair sweater ?? "
i have come up with a theory about back hair. i figure all the hair off of my head i thought i lost just rerooted on my shoulders and back as it fell off
my head went to seed

I'm the same way Blake, although my forearm hair is darker - but fine. I always thought it would be kind of cool to have the option of going hairy or smooth, but just not in the genetic cards for me.

I hate shaving..period. Being in the military I have to shave and the "stache" has to be regulation. When I get out a long pony tail and beard is on the agenda. Did the ear and nose thing last weekend...I guess I'm getting old....er.

Two years ago I had my back lasered. I had an ugly patch of black hair right between my shoulder blades. My wife thought it odd that I had it done but now she likes it.
Also, when we had a real hot and humid summer I buzzed down my chest hair. It felt cooler that way. So now I go furry-chest for the winter and smooth-chest for the summer.

My new GF showed me the bennifits of some major deforestation down south, then talked me into shaving my head. I had no hair on the top of my head anyway. Now she tells me I'd look better without the chest/stomach/back hair. Anyone know where I can get Nair in a 55 gallon drum?
