The relation between bone strength and athletic ability
does having stronger bones effect how athletic you are? because black people genetically have stronger bones then most other people and they are very athletic. But asians have less dense bones and most asians dont excel at sports as much as blacks.
and also i read somewhere that if you have stronger bones your body fat percent is lower.
and also if i genetically dont have very strong bones but i take calcium pills and stuff everyday will that help strengthen my bones significantly?

If my bones were stronger, I would be a better runner.

Last week when I had a bunch of tests done by the docs, CT Scan, X-ray and this one other thing I forget what it was called, I got submerged in this tank I don;t really know what the hell it was for tho lol.
Anyway at the end of it they said I had "above average bone structure" I really didn't know what it meant at the time...I thought it was bad at first lol

Because your active, its that case with 90% of the training population, baring some deficiency.
I've cited several studies in the past on Olympic Lifters and their bone mineral density in youth, its above average.
I would not worry about bone density right now, because there is a good chance you do not have a deficiency, you'd have done known this if you live an active lifestyle.
As it contributing to athletic performance, I do not know the case on that. However I will go out on a limb and say bone density does not contribute to athletic performance, regardless of race. Bone length and biomechanical leverage points have more of an impact on athletic performance.

It really depends on the sport. If you look at elite cyclists, while they are extraordinary athletes, their bone mineral density is just average. An Olympic-level Gymnist, on the other hand, who is also an incredible athlete, DOES have much higher BMD than the average.
The body adapts to the type of loading you put on it. So, if you over load bones using load bearing exercises, BMD will improve (provided the correct nutrition is there too.)

Chewy130: Bone and all other tissues of the body remodel to the stress placed on it.
People who are active in sports where high impact is the norm have densier bone.
Why do you think you have genitically weak bones?

well, would having higher bone density make some 1 faster, jump higher or have more explosive advantage over his average bone density counterpart?
