This has never happened to me before and I got kinda worried so I decided to get online and ask. I went up a weight in deadlift for the first time since I started working out and about an hour after my workout my lower back felt really sore. Not in one general area but more across my entire lower back. It isn't like a stinging pain but sore. I just wanna know if I did something wrong, or if it's just sore from the new weight.

Well the thing is, I've never actually gotten sore doing deadlifts. I went up a weight and afterward my lower back was sore like I just did 100 hyperextensions supersetted with some good mornings. On another note, my ass or glutes as you call it, were sore when I got outta bed and walked around this morning.

If you get sore then things are good for you.
There are several important things to remember about squats. Firstly imagine that someone has attached a hook to your butt and is pulling your hips back. You resist by keeping your body erect. First off you look down at your shins and see that they move back a little. Your lower back tightens to resist the backward pull. Now keep shifting your hips back and down so that your body is nestling comfortably between your thighs- you don't want your thighs in the way of your body. You should be able to keep your shins upright, without any forward motion.
Here is an excellent link with good description and pictures for a perfect squat:
