    Knuckle Pushup Better Than Regular?

    ok, so i read somewhere that doing knuckle pushups improves knuckle strength for people who do heavy bag workouts. it sounded reasonable enough to me, so i started doing knuckle pushups in place of my regular pushups. the knuckle pushups seem to make the overall pushup more difficult on my bicep/triceps. i feel like i get a better workout doing knuckle pushups as opposed to the regular. is this all in my head, or do knuckle pushups actually provide a better workout for my arms?

    yeah, another reason i switched is because i started getting this sharp shooting pain in my left palm that made regular pushups really painful. anyways, thanks for the answer. reps.

    well if ur doing to increase knuckle strenght then yes. it cause microfractures which make the bones denser. wolffs law

    it only makes sense, seeing as how you also have to kind of balance yourself on your way down and up as opposed to regular pushups. and since you're clinching making a fist, that brings in your forearm into play.

    I haven't done pushups in years, but when I was in the Marines, I learned to do them on my fists quickly because I started developing wrist problems doing them on flat palms like most people.

    knuckle push-ups are great if you box. even greater is punching wood or concrete walls, although it probably increases your chacnes of arthritis later in life

    haha. i was really hammered one night, and i was playing the arm punching game w/ a buddy. and i swung wildly and missed hardcore. my fist slipped off his arm and bent at like a 90 degree angle. you know its gunna hurt like hell the next morning when you can feel sharp shooting pain while heavily intoxicated. my entire hand swelled up and i coudlnt make a first for liek 2 weeks. the end.
