I know you can get 5 cents for every bottle you go and recycle but why do they have the "CA" on there? Does that mean that its only eligible/in-eligible in California?

haha this reminds me of the seinfeld where newman and kramer have a plan to take a bunch of bottles to michigan on mothers day in the postal truck"When a cat is dropped, it always lands on its feet, and when toast is dropped it always lands buttered side down. It was proposed to strap giant slabs of hot buttered toast to the back of a hundred tethered cats; the two opposing forces will cause the cats to hover, spinning inches above the ground."

My Brother lives in Idaho and they have "CRV" stamped on their cans. Idaho doesn't have a recycling program so there isn't an extra fee when you buy canned beverages.
So when he comes to visit me he brings along all of his aluminum cans and cashes them in here. 100% profit.
When i've purchased bottles i've noticed they have other states (NY for example) besides CA on them. I assume the plant that bottles them distributes the product into the states that are written on the bottles.
Its easier for them to include all the names of the states on the label so they can just load it and deliver and not have to worry about what name is on the label.
