As for why i want to know... cause i do? Id like to be able to go from the normal BB to a smith and use the same weight, but i cant do that untill i know how much the bar weighs.

I think the smith bar is only 25lbs on the rollers, leg press I have no clue. I don't count the weight of the bar on a smith or leg press.

true but i ran in to this issue today at the y.
i was up to 275 but i did not count the weight until i could not add anymore weight. my max was highest ever at 275 if the bar weighed 15 pounds. then my wife said it was 25. if this is true then my max was actually 285 which would be sweet. either way though today was a success, and i have found over the years that the smith is definately the way to go on bench, but not for squats.

You benching 275 on the smith machine is equivalent to me bragging about pushing 350 lb on the incline bench machine. Any smith machine exercise holds no merit when it comes to powerlifting. I do admit the smith machine is somewhat useful when it comes to bodybuilding but not necessarily a lift where you gauge your bench strength upon.

we have a Magnum brand machine at our gym as one of the smith machines. its counter weighted at 26lbs. its the only specs I have seen on one.
as for leg press put a scale under your feet empty and see? the two big machines (nebula & Kell) are 100lb head and the other 122lb. our kell is a hack squat where you lay flat to the ground and brace with your shouldersYetti
