what do you mean you can't walk, as in it really hurts or is really sore or is does it just feel really stiff , if it's the latter I don't think anything wrong

you could however be overtraining or doing it too intensely but you haven't posted your workout and so I have no idea, im not a pro either, better off asking a physiotherapist at the gym if there is one.

You're doing too much, too fast...mild soreness is regular after an extremely intense workout...severe soreness is something you should never have to experience, especially if it's interfeering with your other activitites during the day..try building up to it slowly man, you can't expect to just go to 2-3 workouts only (I seriously doubt you've gone to more regularly) and be able to train to absolute failure without your body going crazy..

the worst is calves. you walk slowly and carefully, and after youve been walking for a while, you kinda adjust, but then you sit down for 10 minutes, and theyre as tight as f^ck lol. good times...good stuff...

it really only hurt ALOT when i first started doing legs, day after a leg workout I had to warm my legs up just to be able to make them straight.. then i could walk untill i sat down for a couple minutes. It was pretty ****ty, it also lasted for atleast 5 days! but now i hmm.. did legs on monday, but am fine (still sore tho) and dont have problems walking after wards!

edit in: Yah.. when i go for a**** after a legday (with squats) it ****ing hurts my ass to sit on that hard ass toilet haha.

i love the feeling of walking like a mongo after a good 'ole legs session. yeh i was sore as **** and i broke the toilet holder off the wall before beacuse i was holding that hard onto it because i couldnt squat down properly. ah it is all good fun. the worst was calves and i know what eggy means, i used to hate sitting still for too long.it would hurt to move afterwards. just eat a **** load. a lot of soreness can be reduced if you eat enough. also try and do some light cardio or just walk the day after. will reduce a lot of the soreness. after time you get used to it. unless your an oly lifter, you should be sore after doing legs.

That is a positive feeling i would say. I love it whenever my muscles are sore the next few days!

Next week when you do legs, you won't feel as sore though your body will adapt to it.

I workout my legs regularly and yesterday I decided to refresh my skills and make sure everything in my training was right and got a personal trainer for a few sessions. Well yesterday we did legs and after I could hardly walk he said it was normal. Today my legs are extremely stiff not really painful just really stiff and tight. I don't think your problem is abnormal.

Can you explain "why" you love it?

I'm very sore from leg workout 2 days ago. I can barely walk, it's made me feel low energy and restricted my movement. It's also prevented me from having a fully active day, which left me immobile and feeling lethargic.

I also notice on days when i feel extreme soreness, particularly in large muscle groups, such as my entire lower body (*thighs, glutes, hamstrings, calves, hips, etc.) I tend to OVER-EAT immensely compared to other "normal days" --- I can pig out and not feel satisfied as my hunger is increased and I eat sometimes 1000 calories over my normal budget and i'm often not even active that day! It may be physical or mental. I suspect it's due to recovery of the muscles. Maybe because my muscles are starved for nutrients??

    Can anyone explain the phenomena?

OP, stretch before and after your leg workout.
If your gym has a sauna, incorporate that post workout... Sit in there for a good 10-15 minutes.
Make sure you are getting adequate protein in, and perhaps on Leg Day take some BCAA's pre/post workout.

If the soreness is REALLY that bad consistently, lessen your workload homie.

Good tip on the BCAA's ---- I'm going to give it a shot! New supplement day!
Yeah.. I'm sure it's because I switched up routine and did a lot of heavy lifting --- brutal.. def. think supplements can help.

    thanks

    PS:

Does anyone here find they tend to overeat on days when they are in deep recovery from soreness?
Is it because the muscles are rebuilding and are craving nutrients?

You will stop feeling really sore over time if you keep training consistently. I've just had two weeks off the gym and when I came back my muscles were very sore.
