Building the Glutes and Hamstrings
While most people may think this is strange, I really want to build my glutes and hamstrings. I'm also new to bodybuilding, and was wondering which exercizes target these two areas the best?

Stiff Legged Deadlift
Deadlift
Leg Press (High foot placement)

When you squat, go deep. A little below parrallel gets the glutes activated. Try it on a smith machine. Romanian (stifflegged) deadlifts work real well for the hams. Again go deep (light weight to start for good form). Think of it as touching your toes without locking out your knees (slight bend, less strain on the joints). Oh yeah, front squats on the smith (deep) work real well for the glutes too.

Good mornings, plie squats and sumo leg press for outer glutes. Body weight only arse raises and leg ups.
