The late night carbohydrate phobia is overplayed, overanalyzed and almost nonsensical. Logic would tell you otherwise, but keep in mind that the body doesn't operate like a machine. On the other hand, I usually stick to more fibrous forms of carbohydrates such as asparagus and other greens later in the day; it helps me poop!

hmm, Never tried it. Im definately going to give that an experiment try for a week or so. Course I always sleep til I feel better lol.
I DO think people worry too much about their carb intake at night, like its a HUGE deal, and im sure im going to get some dumb remark from somebody, but I MYSELF don't worry about getting every thing perfect, im not going to do shows, and I try to go over and beyond what I need. Im trying to get big/strong and im not really worried about having extra fat.
Back to the main idea, yeah, im going to try that for a bit, thanks

I always have weird dreams if I have any dairy products before bed.

If I don't have carbs, I have trouble sleeping, difficulty waking up, I'm grogging, angry, annoying, etc.

I stick with just vitamins before bed, they're supposed to make you feel refreshed when you sleep. People don't tell you not to eat carbs before bed for no reason. There's science behind it. But if it helps you, why not, we all enjoy sleep!

Yea cause that analogy made sense. Alcohol does NOT make you sleep better. Maybe for some people in a rare occurance and alcoholics who's body DEPEND on alcohol. Alcohol is really crappy for sleep hence one of the reasons for being tired the next day and trying/wanting to sleep in the next day.
also regarding carbs and suga Fructose may help tryptophan cross the blood-brain barrier

Maybe not you bro but it does for a lot of people. Main point is...if eating a loaf of bread before you go to bed makes you sleep better should you do it? If downing half a bottle of nyquil makes you sleep better, should you do it?

True but i never said eat a loaf of bread before bed lol
What i was saying was an apple or banana a couple hours before bed could help sleep.
A swig of nyquil is always good though

Oh I know wasnt even arguing with you about it bro, some of the begining posters in this were making it sound like you could down as many carbs as you wanted before bed no problem.
...Sometimes more then a swig is needed!

I didn't think it really mattered if you ate carbs before bed or not as lond as your within your macros. Ssuaully i only eat protein+fat before bed and or keep my carbs fiberous later at night. ZMA helped me out alot with deep/refreshing sleep. I also bought 2 things of 'prolab REM' it has meltonin it puts me out like no other! i have a full 30 days supply isf somebody wants one it's not opened and the caps are sealed plastic/foil container you have to pop them out like the GUM you see at atores

i agree its overplayed.. if u need the carbs to fit into ur macros for the day enjoy them.. some people just think having carbs before htiting the sack will only make you fat and use them as storage..
the only thing being stores will be excess calories.. so if u need the cals.. and u need carbs to top off ur macros.. let it be and enjoy ur oats / bread whatever ur taking in
not 100% on the pooping thing tho

I would love to see that science, because the only thing I know of is glucose's effects on hGH. All you have to do, is just eat carbs an hour before going to bed and it won't effect the release of hGH.

im not worried about the "carbs before bed are bad" thing. i was just wondering if anyone had the same kind of response that i did.

i think the loaf of bread may be a bit much, but the half bottle of nyquil is definitely not a good idea.
