the only time you should eat simple carbs is after your work out. even then I rather have a complex carb

The simple carbs from fruit are different than simple carbs from dextrose, glucose, etc. I eat fruit all day long. I never have dex or malto. You need the carbs after a workout like this post says, but fruit is a very low GI simple carb, so it's fine any time. I agree with him about the complex carbs.

God forbid that monster - fruit! Not at night! Curses!
Totally kidding. There's no way your body is storing fruit as fat after a brutal workout. You're fine. Seriously. I eat a little bit of oats w/ blueberries and flax every night and it really helps me wake up without that starving feeling (plus it fuels my morning cardio!).

Holy cow, I love oats and blueberries. Mix in some vanilla or chocolate powder and you've got a winner.

I've tried the oats and vanilla pp combo - but mmmm - oats, blueberries, and flax - just hits the spot! Can't wait to get home and have some actually! (I'm still at work - 3 more minutes)

Eat your reg PWO shake and meal after lifting, even if it is late. You need the carbs and protein after a killer workout man, no matter what time it is.

DEFINITELY DRINK UR SHAKE OR MEAL WITH THE COMPLEX CARBS/SIMPLE CARBS AND PROTEIN AFTER YOUR WORK OUT. NO MATTER THE TIME. BUT IF UR NOT WORKING OUT...THEN LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF CARBS AS U GET CLOSER TO NGIHT TIME AND EVENTUALLY CUT THEM OFF AROUND 2-3 HOURS BEFORE BED AND FOCUS ON CLEAN PROTEIN AND HEALTHY FATS WHEN U TAPER THE CARBS. bUT WHEN IT COMES TO FRESH OR FROZEN FRUIT, ANY TIME IS GOOD. IVE NEVER HEARD OF PEOPLE GETTING FAT FROM FRUIT.

Fruit is a complex carbohydrate.
Nothing wrong with eating quality foods at night as long as you're in line with your calories/macros.
