Estimate my BF please
What do you think my body fat percentage is based on these photos?
The tanita BIA scale says 25.3% while the infa red or whatever method that my strength trainer uses at the gym puts me around 20%.

No way, definitely closer to 20. 25% is higher than what I was in Jan., and I was a fatty then. You look great, so I think the infared thingy is more accurate (plus bioimpedance things suck).

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I got on the scale again and this morning the BIA said 27.5%. I know the scales aren't that accurate but I just want an easy way to track BF. Hopefully even if it isn't accurate it will at least be consistent and I can track it that way.

Hehe, yea. 27.5 is overweight, which you're not. Bioimpedance calculators are affected by hydration a LOT, so they might not even be good trackers of BF. The mirror is the best imo, as well as how firm you feel. I could tell I lost a lot of BF because I used to have a little flabby thing above my elbow, and I don't have that anymore. Or you can keep track if you have anything that pokes out over your jeans and whatnot.

I'm a boxer. I fight at either 118lbs or 122lbs. As an amateur I fought 119lbs.

honestly - you are likely more than 20%... I would say closer to 22-25%. (although it is hard to tell with those pics...).
Most females grossly under-estimate their BF % and 18-20% is a LOT more defined than you think.

Yep, before even reading the other posts, I would have said 22-25%... so it looks like I agree with the majority. Keep in mind 25% is normal, healthy BF for a woman. You are obviously at a healthy body weight and with no real definition I'd put you in that range.
I've been told those Tanita scales only really measure your BF on the lower half of your body. The electrical impulsus are strong enough to travel through your whole body or something. To get a true full body measure, you need the kind where you hold a sensor in your hand and step on the scale at the same time. If you carry more of your fat in your bottom that could explain the higher reading on the Tanita.

Thanks Emma-Leigh and MauiZos for the input.
I'm planning on turning pro in boxing in the next few months and I'd really like to lean up so I don't have to dehydrate and so I look good at the weigh-ins. They always take photos at the weigh-ins and a lot of the girls are definitely more defined than I am.
