Sure. Use quality 3/4" rubber gym flooring for the sides and 3/4" plywood for the center (oak looks 1000x nicer, of course).

Look around for some 13ply birch cabinet grade plywood. It's ultra strong. You could stain and clear coat it too with nice results.
Why not just get some 3/4" thick stall mats?

would they have the rubber and wood at home depot?

They'll definitely have the wood, but you might have to go to a farm supply or feed shop to find the stall mats.
