IMO, cable crossovers - there's constant tension with cables, whereas with flyes, there's little tension at the top portion of the movement.
But don't stick with one, mix it up every so often

He never said anything about flyes.
machine butterflyes (or pec dec) will give you the same workout as crossover cables.

I read some Ahnuld tips:
Cable crossovers- squeeze hard at the end
DB Flyes- same, squeeze hard 2-3 seconds at end
Presses- closer grip, keep elbows out and away from body
Hope that helps.

It's too bad there's no such thing as "inner" pecs... and no you can't isolate "inner" pecs. They contract as a whole.

I think he was just comparing DB Flyes to crossovers. With regular DB Flyes the tension comes off the pecs a lot when you near to top portion of the lift.

No, he was recommending the exercise for inner pecs because it maintains tension. Hence my question.

For a HUGE majority of people...
start on a full body 3x per week, add body part volume while reducing body part frequency as you progress. It's that friggin simple. It isn't "1 bodypart every 2 weeks for 70 sets" OR "Soviet/Bulgarian each bp 10x per week using 1 exercise each". There are middle grounds.

Work the upper and lower hard and eat/sleep right and you should develop the 'line' im assuming your wanting. Genetics does play a role in how much gap there is between the right and left but even the widest gaps can be closed with enough hard work.
Good luck!
