Laos is very laid back. The people are ultra-friendly. Very little hassling for tourism dollars (they appreciate them, sure, but they sit back and let you choose where you want to spend them).
Vietnam, well Vietnam would be nice if it weren't for the Vietnamese. Seriously, I've never met a more dishonest group in all my life. About a third of all bills presented to me were wrong (in their favour) and when you point it out to them they don't even appear to feel any shame about it or about getting caught. Very polluted in the cities. The worst traffic I've ever seen. Almost impossible to get off the tourist trail.
Vietnam does have some beautiful places but you have to go through crap to get to them and then once you're there you can barely enjoy it due to the number of people bothering you to give them money.

i would avoid Austria, no offense to the Austrians out there, but the country is not that exciting, unless you like the sound of music and coffee shops (coffee bean type) i would go to Poland or Croatia instead, if your sticking to that part of europe.
