    squat help

    i need help on the squat. my deadlift is at 525 Raw and my squat is only at 440 raw. ive been stuck here with the squat for over a year!!!! any pointers or tricks that could help the squat. hell, my training partner even caught up to me on squat and i had 100 pounds on him in the squat!

    maybe try doing some lunges. It works a different part of leg that squats dont' hit... that might help you out.

    Forget training differently. Eat more!
    If you want to try training techniques then try some lockouts in the squat rack with really heavy weight. I've seen some guys use partials, but I wasn't partial to them.

    Arrow wider stance

    I agree, a wide stance (I find) gives a real feeling of power, strength and stability. If you're not improving then its time to change you're system. Coming from an olympic lifting background, I was always told never to go over 3 reps. When I was younger I found that I couldnt get past 120KG for my sets of 3's so I simply changed to 4's and 5's and was fixed in no time!

    Agree 100%. You need to do some chain and band training. Also try doing some static lifts. This is where you just unrack a weight that you can't squat and hold it. This will help in getting you used to handeling heavy weights.
