What are some foods with high carbs and high calories?

Can you guys list your favourite high-carb, high-calorie foods? and can you guys specify the brand so that i can try to find it at my local Vons or Albertsons...thanks!

The most nutritionally dense, low-GI carbs, effective carbs are (in no particular order)

    Yams
    Whole Wheat Pasta
    Whole Wheat Bread
    Brown Rice
    Oatmeal
Potatoes (this one is the worst of the group, but used sparingly is very beneficial)

Dieting theories range wildly on this one.

Some people gain more on high carb-moderate protein. Others gain more on high-protein-moderate carb. It is up to the person's body.

However, your best bet on protein is to take in at least your body weight (personally my recommendation is to start there, and ramp up to 1.5-2.0 times body weight over time)

Do some research on it. In the off season, Jay Cutler takes in around 1000 carbs a day. Also do some research on NTS (nutrient timing system). Carbs, just like the other important macromolecules, has its place in a bodybuilders diet. If you'd like to PM me, I can explain the NTS sytem alot more throughly - I just got finished researching it for the past few months.

For most teens the NTS works well due to the fact it gives them structure.

However, it should be noted, that due to genetic disposition all things are not so clear in arranging diets. Some people are carb-sensitive, some people have poor digestive tracks (lack of fiber), and so on.

Well, that's a given. For the assuming he's the average person, it will work well. The NTS has failed few who've tried it. I do agree there are certain gentetic dispositions that could determine whether the NTS system works well for somebody, but I do believe it will work for the average person.

cheese cake is sky high in calories and loaded with carbs...but I dont think thats what your looking for. Go with the peanut butter sandwiches, theyre a good choice imo.
