you sound like your getttin ready for a show..... what show are you doin???
i just cut this from a link that i got from a past post

-Sodium loading - most people screw this up because they listen to guys in the gym that use diuretics who then think they understand renal physiology. Adjustments in plasma osmolality and sodium loads in the body occur at different rates running from minutes to days. Again this is something you experiment with before your big day, because if you miss your timing you will look quite bloated and smooth. Simply double your sodium intake about 10-15 days before the big day. Water intake should still be quite high (1.5-2.0 gallons per day). About five days before the show, reduce sodium intake to 2 grams per day or less (this is from all sources). Water intake is still high. Three days before the show cut water intake down to about 1-2 quarts per day. At this time you will also have reduced protein and fat calories so that you can start carbing up Lower protein intake to about .8 grams per kilogram of BW making sure that you eat high quality protein sources. About 1000 mg of potassium per day is usually taken when you cut down on the sodium. I have to say that the extreme look that is valued in competition can not be achieved without excessive dehydration. This is rather unhealthy. It is also very important to lower protein intake when you are this dehydrates. Several animal studies have made it clear that dehydration and high protein are an invitation to renal problems later on.

Im Looking to compete in a teen division in the future

Never competed yet though. The whole paragraph about sodium loading wasnt really too clear to me. Anyone want to maybe simplify this for me and put it in steps please?

basically this should be strait forward..

    sodium load-
double your sodium intake about 10-15 days before show
    sodium deplete-
five days before the show, reduce sodium intake to 2 grams per day or less (this is from all sources

    potassium load-
    once u start to deplete your sodium....suplement with potasium..about 1000mg a day

    water load-
water intake should stay high from the beginning of your diet until 2-3 days before hand..2 gallons a day should be sufficient
    water deplete-
2 days prior....drink anywhere from 1/4 a gallon to 0 (this varies with every person)

*you must be very dehydrated to get the apperance that your skin is 5 sizes too small

What do you do about the potassium though?

Do you take 1000mg every day up to the compitition? How about the day of the compitition?

What about the carb loading thing?

i am actually in the middle of my last weeks prep.....im gettin ready to go on stage for the NPC GA and competing in the teen division.....

i currently take around 1200 mg of pottasium a day......and around 8 grams of vitamin C......i got the vitamin C idea from phano....

i just got done with my carb depletion.....sunday through half way of today (wednesday) i only took around 10-15 grams of carbs and i upped my protien to close to 2 grams per lbs of bodyweight and upped my fats a little......i was gonna deplete my carbs all the way through today.....but i seriously felt too brain dead and i couldn't take it.....

but now that i started my carb loading, ive been eating 27 grams of carbs from oatmeal every 2 hours i am awake.....i'll probly substitute with brown/white rice or sweet potatoes if i get bored.....at this stage protien is pretty much optional...i plan on taking around 100 grams a day.......
i will do this up until friday night........and if i still feel flat i might eat something more sugary.......the same goes with before prejudging.........

*the last week of your contest prep should really be fitted for your goals and how you want to look when u are on stage.....

oh yeah.....you don't take any vitamins on contest day......not too sure why....but that's what ive been reading from experienced competitors.....

hey one more thing.....my boss told me that tooth paste and deoderant contained sodium in it....and i shouldn't brush my teeth or use deoderant until after the show......im not too sure if he was bull****tin me and just tryint to ruin my life....or if he was serious...

im not doin this.....i just wan't to know if anyone has heard of this before

*6 weeks out is way too early to start this.......
this is specifically for the last week before the contest/photo shoot......
right now you should follow a precontest diet....these are easy to find...you can find them on back posts...or even in like FLEX or MUSCLE FITNESS etc..........
