We prepare for 4-5 months... No last minute tricks are going to work.. Your'e either shredded a few weeks out or youre not.. It's that simple... Read Layne's thread on water intake... As naturals, we had to learn through science and using our minds to get the job done, rather than relying on drugs... This is why we can drink plenty of water back stage and come out dry and ripped...
Also, you heard the saying "You are your unhealthiest on contest day, but you look great." That's total BS...
The reality if you do this naturally and intelligently, is "You are your healthiest on contest day AND you look great."

As a natural competitor, I make very little changes during my last week of contest prep. After training and dieting for months, I don't need to do much the last week. When you're ripped and ready you're ripped and ready. I don't need any last minute changes.

I hated it when i asked this question a few weeks ago and everybody just told me "you better be ripped a few weeks out". Well let me tell you what i did ... maybe not the best advice but i did come in very full and very dry at my show.
One Week Out- Its true by one week out you should be ripped and ready for stage ... this is Peak Week an chance to make your body look its best at the time you step on stage.
Saturday - Two gallons of Water and 150 grams of carbs
Sunday - Two gallons of Watrer and 150 grams fo carbs
Monday (Depletion) - Two gallons of water and 50 - 100 grams of carbs
Tuesday (Depletion) - Two gallons of water and 50- 100 grams of carbs
Wendesday (Depletion0 - Two gallons of water and 50 - 100 grams of carbs
Thursday (slight refeed) - 1/2 gallon of water spread out all day - 50 grams of carbs every 3 hrs starting at 8 am and ending around 10. Eat only very complex carbs. I used grilled turkey breast and sweet potatos all day every meal. this is very low sodium too.
Friday (Carb loading and Water Deplet) - 20oz bottle of water completly gone by 2:00pm (NO MORE WATER UNTIL AFTER WEIGH IN) Same diet plan as Thursday except that you will need to check your self out and see if your filling up with the complex carbs. If you are then great ... keep eating them. I wasn't getting full, I still felt depleted, so i went to Fazollis and ate a plate of spagheti (no sauce) and i dried it out in the hotel microwave to get rid of the water. Later on i ate 4 rice cakes with peanut butter and jelly. I was up all night checking my detail and fullness.
Saturday - After you weigh in start feeding those muscles the simple sugars, honey, jelly, rice cakes, snickers bar whatever! Do not gorge yourself, keep a constant eye on your body and at this point you can sip water to wet your lips. Do not take a big drink or you will spill over, but with a sip or two of water you will only fill out more when you start to pump.
Best of luck dogg, I know there will be lots of peeps that will say dont listen to that guy. But it seemed to work very well for me. I got my plan from Art Atwood ... I know he's not Layne Norton but i think he knows his stuff.

3-4 weeks out
if you are ready at that point, the rest of the prep becomes a lot easier and foods can be added back to increase fat-burning/metabolic rate and you get even fuller, harder, and will look that much better, never leave last minute prep to the end and make the last week harder!

well look for some threads on water depletion written by the science guys, layne norton or dr. joe klemczewski, true naturals and their science based research on water, sodium, and carbs!
