Hi all, I was wondering how i can make my lower abs stronger. I currently do crunches and I have seen a major increase in my upper abs but my lower abs, I dont even think I have any, arn't getting any exerciese. If someone could post some at home exercises for increasing your lower abs that would be great.
Thanks!

If that were the case,
people would just do flat bench, would just squat, would just row, and would just overhead press. And do it heavy..
Yeah it works, until your body catches up and says "hey this is easy".
You want to shock your body with new exercises, and different things to stimulate all motor units.just lift hard, eat hard.. rest right... **** doesnt happen over night..

Most males hold their fat near their lower abs. Also, lower abs are usually the most underdeveloped (for instance, on me you can clearly see the cuts along the side of the abdominals - even the lowers, but the actually bulges are very small, that's why I need to work my lower abs a ton).

X2, plus weighted leg lifts from a decline bench (reverse you position, hang onto the part your feets go), use a smaller db (5-15lbs) and go slooow.
QUOTE=nightwolfz;68264773]I though there were no upper or lower abs, just one big muscle :-/
meaning abs get completly trained with any ab exercise, correct me if I'm wrong[/QUOTE]
It's one long muscle. Because of the length, certain exercises stimulate some areas better than others. I didn't think there was a difference until I did a year of powerlifting for my back. My upper abs grew excessively because of the stress of stabilizing against the heavy weight, BUT my lower abs stayed the same. I ended up with over-developed upper abs. Eeck.
Now I alternate: M-upper, W-lower, F-upper, M-lower, etc. Not so weird lookin now.
