New Gay Thread

Here I am gone for a few days and come home to find that the old gay thread ain't what it used to be. In fact it had been closed, which I cannot understand at all. There are many reasons why the gay community tends to gravitate toward one another, just as any minority or sub-culture does. Security, fraternity, friendship and comraderie are some of the things I found in the previous thread. I hope we can do it again. My strong recommendation is to not engage in endless and pointless discussions with anti-gay posters. No one is going to change anyones mind so why bother?

That all said, I'm sorry I missed Marlboromans birthday last week so a big hug for you Douglas. Hope it was a good day and that all your wishes come true!

Also, does anyone really give a rats patootie about "rep points" on this board? Seems to me that the anonymity of it makes it easier for anyone with a grudge to hand out negatives by the boatload to someone else so whats the use? They could also create a bogus account and give themselves a bunch of positives. Does anyone look at others scores anyway? To me, it's the content of someones posts that is meaningful and gives insight into their character, not some arbitrary scoring system.

One last question about this board: How can a member get banned but their posts remain on line? What kind of punishment is this?

Finally, I am on my last day off before going back to the gym, so I'm looking forward to a great workout tomorrow. It will be tough since I had a long weekend with a fair amount of SuperBowl partying, but I'm getting anxious to get back to it. I may even go today anyway, though my legs are pretty whipped from a lot of walking over the weekend, and being stuck on an airplane for 8 hours yesterday.

I would love to know why the old one got deleted. My suspicion or hope is that the mods were trying to stop the people who gave negative rep points in the old thread simply because of homophobia. I think we have a right to have our own thread. The old one in many respects was far cleaner and less pornographic than many of the others in here.

The old thread is still there, but is locked.

As for the rep system, I had the urge for a split second to post a bunch of stuff to get up to 50 and start hitting up some people for rep points. It's just human nature to want what another person has. But how important can a reputation on an internet site really be? You people have no idea who the heck I am, and I'm certain you don't care. I really only registered for the purpose of asking a question about Creatine, which was answered by practical experience anyway. Not having much else to offer, I'll probably never make it to 50 posts to begin with.

At any rate, take note of the sticky at the top of the forum regarding the rep points. It looks like the moderator is trying to fix the problems with the system.

Geez! I go skiing for a couple of days and when I return the original gay thread was closed. Does anyone know what happened? I'm sure the homophobes had something to do with it.

I'm so sore today, I may not be able to workout which always brings me down.

Bully for the man who started the boy's thread again. I have to tell you, and I'm embaressed to say it, I totally don't get the red/green points. Do you get like a button at some point? I have just placed green dots all over my screen so I always have tons no matter what thread or site I'm on. Thinking about a pair of glasses with similar dots. Gotta tell ya fellas, I always enjoy the bonding.

Well this LUEY (Let Us Entertain You) thing this weekend in Houston is a mixed blessing. It is a circuit party of sorts, but many of them are the so called bear types. In other words, fat out of shape slobs who should never be seen in leather - but they are anyway. At least some fresh faces show up and it can be fun here and there.

Ick! I've learned that in gay-speak "burley" really means fat and hairy verses built with a goatee.But, if that is your scene, come to Chicago for IML in May.

Actually the term "muscle gut" in this case does not come from steroids, but from guys who eat too much and have big arms and chests but flab for bellies. They try to use the euphemism of "muscle gut," but I think it looks silly.

You mean Pensacola? Is it gonna be intact enough for us this year? My friends and I usually go each year... we were tosing around the idea of doing Disney this year...but its hard for me to pass up a beach trip.

Do not understand what the reputation business is all about myself. Yes, it provides feedback but to whom? Still have my green dot despite three neg. comments by the religious element of the previous thread.

After the previous thread was locked, I disappeared for a while. And I pay a visit and lo and behold a new thread is here. Though Bodybuilding.com has been on my favorites for ages only recently started perusing the site.

Have never cared for guts peroid. I do not deal with fat well. Being friends with someone is one thing but being intimate is another.
Am lean...at 165. Maybe not mean.
Guess that's why have a bit of trouble bulking up...the personal trainer I had told me initially I would get a little tummy but after you get the bulk you're after, you work on burning that off to get that elusive midsection.
I do not know how true that is. Men? Any comments?

No, I was talking Provincetown....Disney is a blast, tho...We went a couple of years ago, but that's the best weekend for us to go to the Caoe with the work schedule...

Hey Douglas, welcome back. I agree with your trainer. I think its true with most that when you are packing on muscle mass, it is impossible to avoid packing on some fat too. I think that is part of the adaptation to intense exercise. Your body is storing energy for those long workouts. That and I think most guys take in more protein than the body can process at one time and the excess is stored as fat. The beauty part is that your metabolism increases as your muscle mass increases and it burns calories faster, making it easier to lose that extra fat when it comes time to cut. (Of course that is all easy to say but not as easy to accomplish.)

Anyway, I'm heading out to the gym now for a little intense training of my own. Had a couple days off so I'm ready to go! Have a great Sunday, boys.

Just thought I'd drop in and see what's going on.
Tired being as I just got in from work. Remember I work graveyard.
Am still waiting for my Quicklock dumbbells from Mega Fitness. Until I get the heavier weights my progress has stalled. Don't want to be super huge, just some muscle to look good.
To me, being really huge is about the same as being too thin. It's all in what you're into...like anything.
Plus one has to have the time to put into a workout. You see advertisements all the time, do this a certain number of times per week in only 15 minutes...what a joke in my opinion!
SDMuscleBuddy, any pics of yourself on the site?

And on that note men, notice I said men not "boys" like someone else made reference to...get that SDMuscleBuddy? Anything to give you a rough time.
