I commute to college two days a week and I spend the whole day there. I take tuna, no problem. But I want to take cooked vege/chicken breast/brown rice with me..will it be ok if it stays out in room temp for 12hrs or so? I am just worried, I bet the chicken breast will be HARD. Oh well, do anyone of yall have food out for so long and eat it without microwaving it or whatever?

It will be fine in tupperware. If you want to keep anything cold just buy a small cooler, keep it in your car, and stick an ice pack or two in the cooler.
