    Unless your using L-norvaline, why even bother with arginine? Out of a single dose, a very high percentage is degradated within the liver by arginase I. Just go with citrulline instead.

    i have been training for a yr now and have totally upped my workouts and today brought l arginine and zma, prior to your question i searched and found this info:

    L-arginine is a useful amino acid that many people take as a supplement. It helps the body rid itself of ammonia and make creatine, L-glutamate and L-proline.     I also read that taking L-arginine and L-ornithine taken together can result in growth hormone release.

    I have recently bought some pure aakg and first time I took 1 gr (low dose) and had very bad bad bad diarrhea for 2-3 days. Because AAKG can stimulate the release of some gastrointestinal acidic enzymes, the effect lasting for a couple of days (read wikip article)

    I suggest everyone to start at a very low dose and then assess your tolerance.

    Overall, I seem to have concluded that the best time (FOR ME) to take AAKG is early in the morning, not necessarily pre-workout, but before the workout during the day.


    Edit: I'd also stay away from it if you're under 23 yrs old, shouldn't need it (same arguments as with celltech)

    As far as im aware, your muslces are getting bigger and healing during your rest period.

    So during workout you dont really need GH, since you arent trying to grow your muscles but are trying to "Damage" or "Rip the muscle fibers" them so that when you are resting they can heal and become bigger during the next couple days, the more efectively you "damage" or "Rip the muscle fibers" during your workout the bigger and stronger your muscles will grow during rest period to adjust to the load they are anticipating next time.

    If Arginine helps you pump more and increase the load at which your muscles are getting better "Damage" or "muscle fiber Rip" then it is an excelent suplement to take during or prior to workout. As GH is pretty much obsolite during the "Damaging" phase.

    And since Arginine helps increase GH on rest/non workout days it is again an excelent suplement as the rest/nonworkout days are the days you need the most GH to repair your muscles...
