    running/crossfitish and strength training

I have recently started my cities police academy, and we are running quite a bit and mixing in some crossfit style workouts. We have test where are strength are cardio are crucial points. My question is, if we are running 3-5 miles on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays, plus my own 2 miles on Saturdays. Is it possible to gain some strength on bench and squat?

The short answer is yes. Just give your self a good surplus of calories. Good luck with the test.
