    Smoked Oysters

I have a thing for smoked oysters and clams. They come in a can and they are packed in olive oil or water. My question is are they okay to eat. i am trying to lose weight and get healty. My diet now is more portion control and eating 5-6 small meals a day. not counting calories but i am losing about 1-2 lbs per week so far.

Smile Smoked oysters r good stuff IMO . . .

    Check these nutrition facts:

    http://www.dietfacts.com/html/nutrit...dded-36081.htm

    a 47-g serving (58% of a 3.75 oz can) of oil-packed smoked oysters has:

    93 calories
    5g fat
    4g carbohydrate
    8g protein
    160 mg sodium

Not too shabby as canned seafood goes.

EDIT: I like 2 eat them w/ cottage cheese @ bedtime.

There is no food on the planet more anabolic than oysters. I eat 1/3 pound of oysters several times a week. A decent sized can of oysters has about 1000% of the RDA for zinc (natures test booster), and tons of B-12 + B-6. Oysters and clams both have a rare amino acid called D-Aspartic Acid: this is a very potent test-booster and aphrodisiac- it also improves sleep.
