Great for the calves?
i know they recommend go light on them but ive got a spotter and a smaller stepup box so i go VERY VERY heavy (like 400lbs) and step up onto it and then down.
is this great for my calves.

well negative's as I do them on mon and thurs (back day) as i need to increase my strength.
Due to negatvies in the space of one week ive went from doing only 4 underhand pullups to 8 easily. now i need to do wide grip, as i aim to replace both with lat pull down machines.
and btw, u'd be surprised how easy it is to go very heavy with step-ups. I am 169lbs and i managed just a few lbs under 400. So ya, it damn hurts ur legs and back bro - worst than squats.
