problems due to anabolic diet?
I've been doing the Anabolic Diet (which is a Keto diet) for about a week and:
* My eyes have begun having a problem focusing. Sometimes the vision is double, but usually it's just blurry and it takes an extra few seconds to see clearly.
* My injuries (back and knee) also seem to "pop" more and ache.
* Mentally I'm "confused", my thought process has slowed, it takes me longer to reach a conclusion.
* If I don't think about what I'm saying I will mispronounce words and occationally stutter.
Does most of this sound relatively normal?

The mental fog sounds right and it usually goes away but the other symptoms sound serious so I suggest that you go off the diet and see if that clears up the problem. If it doesn't I would see the doctor soon as possible

More problems started...cramping in my hands and calves, dry mouth, fatigue.
It turns out that between the diet (and dropping water weight), the caffine (my ECA stack + Coffee) and this blasted heat that I dehydrated. I'm drinking plenty of H2O but my electolytes dropped to the point the problems began. I added electolyte suppements.

That sucks bro.
Are you going to continue with the diet or going to cycle off to see if it's the diet that's causing it?

Well, one of the bits of advice I was given for overcoming dehydration was avoiding greasy foods and fiber and going on a BRATS (bananas, rice, apple sauce, toast, and saltines) diet. Of course you can tell that BRATS and Anabolic diet don't corelate very well.
Right now I'm trying to be less strict on carbs (less than 100 grams a day) and taking supplemental potassium, calcium, magnesium, and zinc. I'm going to try that for a day or two to see if I regulate. If not then when I load this weekend I may not cut back again on Monday.
The main thing getting me now is the cramps in my hands. My grip is all but gone because of them.

That's interesting. I've never heard of anyone experiencing any of those symptoms except for "brain fog".
Keep us updated on this.

This is interesting...Sorry this is happening to you. I've been experiencing some of the same problems on and off (I'm on CKD.) Fatigue, cramping in my hands, feet and calves. Do you also kind of feel a stiffness in your joints? How about your digestive system? Any problems, umm, dropping off the kids at the pool?

I was just curious about the BMs b/c my nurse friend just told me that this happens to folks at the nursing home all the time when they eat too much fiber or bulk creating laxatives. What happens, apparently, is that your body keeps drawing water into your intestines. If you don't have a bowel movement or are eating too much fiber, then you can become dehydrated quickly.
If that wasn't the case then well...how do you feel now that you added the supps and are getting more fluids?

Yeah, I'm supposed to avoid high fiber as I try to regulate. I was taking Psyllium (2-3 grams) with about every meal.
So far...I still feel like ass. I'm not cramping but still feel decombobulated.
The thing is mentally I was so ready that now that I'm trying to eat somewhat normally I'm having a problem switching gears. I went to McD's and got a double quarter and threw the bun away without a thought.

****, my eyes have been getting watery, itching, and stuff ever since I started a Keto-type of diet..I thought it was just my eyes though. Could it be due to missing vitamins from fruit?

Stop using stimulants.
Period.

No. Probably withdrawl symptoms. You should be supplementing with a high quality B complex.

My visions going away slowly, I used to be real clear, now I can barely read the bottom 2 lines on those Alphabet boards.
I am supplementing with a good multvitamin, which should have B complex.

Multi-vitamins don't work.
The B Vitamins that you are getting are under-dosed.
The B Vitamins that you are getting are not in their most bioavailable form.
The B Vitamins that you are getting are the ones that you already have enough of (b-1, 2, and 3) and not the ones that you need (b-5, 6, & 12).
Cod Liver Oil provides A & D
High quality Ascorbic Acid w/bioflavoids
High quality Coenzyme B Complex
You also need to take individual chelated minerals (zinc, mag, maybe selenium) to replace what was being leeched from your body by phytic acid
There's your "multi-vitamin"
B Vitamins are magic. Start taking high doses of B6 and 12 and you will feel better immediately.

Weird things started going on with my body when I switched to Anabolic Diet. BMs are abundant and feel "loose" and "airy" (oddly enough, this also happened for the first month I was taking uni-liver). I also experienced heart palpitations which I attributed to caffeine so I cut it out completely, but I was still experiencing them on my carb-loads, turns out I can't even eat sweets anymore...anything high GI does it...kinda scary, but at least it keeps me eating good, even on my carb loads...Doctor said I was fine, told me to keep an eye on it and my total cholest. is at 132. I can't even eat pancakes anymore to cheat on my sunday morning...bummer

Without seeing your diet..it's really hard for anyone here to give you a good "opinion" of what your problem may be. I will say this, however...many people try doing a low fat version of KETO and suffer from lightheadness, excessive cracking in the joints, etc. Make sure your getting your FATS! Additionally, I agree with the above posts...that recommend making sure your getting enough water (I drank about 1 gal/day). If your working out hard, your body may need more water than this.
Let's take a looksie at what your actually eating...shall we?
