hi guys,
i'm probably asking a stupid question but, what is bulking and what is cutting? are they the same thing?

ok bulking is gaining weight and muscle mass and cutting is loosing the fat and small amount of muscle to be more ripped (thats a pretty general way to explain it) if youre skinny bulk if youre fat cut

Bulking = Taking in more calories than is required in the hope of gaining muscle mass.
Clean Bulk = Bulking without such a calorie overload, to limit lipid build up.
Cutting = Calorie deficit in the hope of losing fat (not muscle) and getting rid of water weight.
They all refer to diet (ie the way you eat, what you eat etc)

Bulking = Taking in an excess in calories. Also most people tend to 'step up' their training by being more meticulous and consistent with what they do
Cutting = Creating a deficet in calories, either by cardio and/or diet. Most people include about 3-5 sessions of cardio into their routines. Training remains the same except people will watch for signs of overtraining.

sorry to bring this back up again, but from what you have said, i think i need to bulk. what consists of bulking?? can you give me some advise that you have tried and approve of? much appreciated,
