Super setting two back movements?

When training back has anyone tried supersetting two different back exercises one straight after the other. For example 3 sets of weighted close grip pullups for 5 reps then straight onto a light barbell row for 6-8 reps with a real good squeeze at the top for 3 sets? Anyone used something similar with good results?

Are you saying you do close grip pull ups for three sets then go to the barbell rows?

IMO, just for me, that approach is better used towards the end of a back workout for a finishing breakdown and pump than for low reps heavy in the beginning. It honestly just takes too much out of me.

but I've seen plenty of others do that. If you can handle the energy and intensity level without dropping dead, go for it.

I do something similar in my back workout. My last exercises are 4 sets of DB laterals-DB shrugs-pullups.

Sometimes I superset Chinups with chinning-bar rows (feet supported). Provides a great pump to the middle/upper back.

ANyone use those lat pullover machines where you press with your elbows? Apparently theyre good to superset with pulldowns.

Ya why not? Its just like any other body part if you want to superset go for it. I like doing lat pull downs supersetted with straight arm pulldowns, or bent over rows supersetted with DB rows.

A good one would be to use that pullover machine (which is essentially an isolation move), then follow with pulldowns or chins where your bis are fresh, then follow with bent arm free-weight pullovers (db or bb) where your tris are fresh, so a 3-set superset (isolation + compound involving bis + compound involving tris).
Just keep the elbows as close together as you can during the free weight pullover.
