Self-tanners?

Hello,

So i was wondering if anyone knows of a good self tanner? I usually use neutragena spray tanner and it works really great but I can't stand the smell of it...or deal with it all day long!!

What's the best one you've ever used?

Never used one. Those self tanner things make some girls look all discolored. Spend some time in the sun, that works the best.

Have you ever been airbrushed tanned? That works great!

As far as self-tanners go, I like Neutrogena's Foam tanner much better than the spray. It provides much deeper color, in my opinion, and does not splotch any on me.

I agree that the sun works the best, but the risk of skin cancer also comes along with it. The benefit is not worth the potential cost IMO.

I would like to recommend the spray tan that you get when you go to a tanning salon. Its kind of like what comes in the bottle only it takes a about 25 seconds to 'get painted'. [15 seconds to do the front and back and then about 10 more to finish drying].

I have found that it does not give an orangy look and its fairly inexpensive if you purchase a package of about 5 or 6 sessions. Keep in mind the tan should last from about a week to week and a half. It will not rub off on your clothing once it has dried so you dont have to stop wearing white.

The only things you have to make sure not to forget to do before stepping into to the booth are: 1) put lotion on the palms of your hands and cuticles and 2) lock the door!

Is that the Mystic Tan thing? I read about it but never tried it before.

I heard it can come off in the pool thouhg, but looks natural.

I use Neutrogena too, and love it. I have a very tight scheduel and don't have time for the sun, especially when it's 20 degrees outside. In addition, the sun is a good source of vitamin D, not cancer causing. Burning and damaging the skin causes skin cancer. I don't think God would put a cancer causing object to bear down on us....Use caution and tan smart...don't burn.

Which neutrogena product do you use? I use the spray and I just can't stand the scent. It works great but yah, i almost can't use it. And yah, tanning is by far the best (and most enjoyable ) but the whole skin cancer thing sorta scares me....

Does anyone know of any drugstore brands that work well? (sorta on a limited budget...)

I've used the spray and lotion. As long as it works, I can deal with the smell. I think it's grown on me and I don't notice it as much anymore. The sun doesn't cause skin cancer, burning does.

I know not everyone is naturally tan like me so I did some research for you...kidding. I am red-headed and fair skinned and keeping a tan is just unheard of. I've never entered a competition, I'm also only 17, so take this as a grain of salt if you'd like BUT I had to get sprayed before a huge convention for Key Club and had it done I think 2 or 3 days before the convention. Anyways, the day after or of, I also had a track meet. Surprisingly the spray didn't wash off in the gallons of sweet I lost that day. By the time the convention rolled around I looked very naturally tanned. My only problem was in the cracks of my knuckles. I also didn't exfoliate before the spray, which I found out later really helps. It's funny how that happens. But I'm also not the girliest girl ever either so me not knowing a beauty tip isn't too far fetched. So, what I'm saying is, find a place that does spray-on tans, try it out and if you don't like it then don't use it for competition...that's the wonderful thing about off-season.
