Hey guys, I don't post in here very often, but I have been researching a lot and haven't come to any conclusive end as to whether or not I should work out or how much the week before a BP meet. I have 5 more weeks until the meet, and i can't figure out when to stop with the heavy weights to make sure all my muscle fibers are rested enough. Some articles I've read said that I should stop lifting heavy 2wks or so for the overshoot effect. Some say just rest only the week before, and some say don't stop, just continue like the competition is just part of your workout. Any experience with this or advice at all is greatly appreciated.

I would guess it's going to depend on what works best for you. For what it's worth my bench (such as it is) drops off after about 4 days rest. I know a lot of people do their best lifts if they take a whole week without touching the iron.
