muscle milk

I bought muscle milk recently because ive been hearing a lot of good things about it. but i noticed that it had quite a bit of fat which they labeled "lean lipids". they said they are fats designed to promote muscle growth but i dont want to gain any weight from fat. is this extra fat something to watch out for or not?

no. you need fat in your diet. fat does not make you fat... to many calories do. just stay away from trans fats.

Very well-said. Like he said, fats aren't necessarily bad.

The only good thing about muscle milk is that it tastes good. Its full of fat, full of calories, and all that. Its not even a WHEY protein, so its not intended to be used as a PWO shake. If your not trying to put on fat or easily put on fat, dont use it. Use something else. You need fat in your diet, but I'm sure you get enough from other sources. Dump the muscle milk and get a good whey protein.

You beat me to it! What he said.^^^

Oh, and whey is completely different! Muscle Milk is slow-digesting. As in ideal before bed. Whey would absorb for only 2/3 hours, while this will be over an 8 hour period or so. And you need calories. As a bodybuilder he should have known that.

Overall Muscle Milk is awesome stuff.

Yes and as a bodybuilder, you should know that you should try to get more calories from REAL FOOD sources then powdered protein. I would love for you to explain why I dont know what I'm talking about.... Please go ahead, I would love to hear it.... from both of you

He said hes not trying to put on fat, so he doesnt need all the extra calories from muscle milk. For some people its too many calories like myself. Especially when consuming a few scoops a day.

Maybe you have more posts, but I would love to hear why you use a slow digesting protein after a workout when you will get better results from a WHEY protein post workout.

Yes you put on 25 pounds, but maybe you could have put on more with the same workouts and a WHEY shake after your workouts. I never said anything was wrong with using a casein shake before bed, I take a casein shake everynight.
