question about whey protein and critiques on my plan.

    hey guys!
I'm trying to lose about 20lb.. from 190lb to 170lb ish..
my diet is just no pop, candy, and junk food...
    usually I would just eat..
7:00 am a bowl of cereal
8:20 am snack (nutri gram or w/e)
    9:30 am a pear
10:50 am Wheat bread (that has nuts and all) + 2 slices of chicken and papperjack cheese sandwich.
12:20 Wheat bread (that has nuts and all) + 2 slices of chicken and papperjack cheese sandwich.
6pm -8pm usually a bowl of rice with some asian food.

I tried with this for about a week and 1/2... with no extra cardio... my weight stayed at 190lb.

I have a question about taking whey protein.

is it ok to take some in the morning right after breakfast? I'm not excercising or lifting in the morning.. i just go to school.

and I also plan to take some at night after I lift(not too hardcore til I get a bench).

    Thank you!

Meal 1 - eat oats with some protein (egg whites) and fat
Meal 2 - drop the nutrigrain bar - loaded with sugar
Meal 3 - add some protein and fat
    Meal 4 & 5 - drop the cheese

What is your pre/post workout meal? You have a huge gap between Meal 5 and Meal 6. You should never go 6 hours without eating.

I take whey only after I workout. I wouldn't recommend it other times a day because it is quick digesting. If you want the convenience at school you could get some casein protein. Otherwise I would suggest tuna, chicken, cottage cheese in tupperware as protein sources.

    Here's my meal breakdown -

    Meal 1 carbs, protein, fat
    Meal 2 carbs, protein, fat
    Meal 3 carbs, protein, fat
    Meal 4(pre) carbs and protein
    Meal 5(post) protein, carbs
Meal 6 protein, veggies, maybe carbs
Meal 7 (prebed) protein and fat

Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll try to help!

your maint is ~2850cal (BWx15). if you want to drop weight, you should be at ~2300 (apprx 500 cal below your maint level)

if you follow that, your macro content isn't a huge concern, but if you want to keep the lbm you already have, you should keep the protein pretty high

since your body has been in a catabolic state for a couple of hourse, protein is good first thing . personally, I have a 30-40g mixed into my oatmeal for breakfast.
