    Spina Bifida

Well, I went to air force academy at portugal and they detected Spina bifida at L5 and S1. I've done bodybuilding for 2/3 years (I'm 18 atm).

I'm w8ing to see a doctor atm but the question is: should I stop completly to workout? I've no ideia what to do with on my back.

And this have no cure at all.

Definitely stay away from back excercises until you see the doc.

Your goals will have to be different from now on.

    Sorry about your diagnosis.

iirc there are varying degrees of spina bifida. some are no big deal, while others are a huge deal.

Neural tube defects should not be taken lightly. It surprises me that no one has detected that earlier. Good luck on everything...

i see non-union of the lamina relatively often, usually at L5. 9/10 it's asymptomatic.

i have spina bifida, i've known i've had it since birth and my lower backs hurts if i stand up for like 10 mins, but it doesnt hurt that much when i work out, so i've seen my specialist and he said it was fine but not to heavy on exercises where my back is bent. definetly see the doc tho. (i've been working out for almost 2 years and no problems so far.)
