    painfull pumps

now this is long story but I'll make it as short as possible.
my left bicep was lagging months ago...my right arm was 2 inches bigger than the left.
I stopped doing direct bicep work for about 3 months...
after 3 months...I upped my cal intake by 1000 and added only one single direct bicep work...which is what I still do.
during the last 2 weeks...I started getting those painfull pumps in my left bicep. it's really painfull to touch and to flex...and size increase during these "pumps" are almost unreal.
is this kind of pumps normal? am I pushing the the bicep too hard?
