I am also trying to reduce my bf%. I use "All The Whey" Protein. It is priced very fair, tastes great IMO, and has no added sugar or anything else. It is 100% pure protein isolate. It comes in a variety of flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, banana and orange. I have tried them all with the exception of orange and they are all pretty good. Here are the nutritional facts:

I think that adding protein may be appropriate if she's not getting enough. I personally like Solid Whey protein powder since it's inexpensive and mixes/tastes as good as anything else I've tried.

But if you are looking for a protein powder to consume around your workouts (eg: For recovery) then a whey protein isolate is your best bet. This is because it is digested quickly and helps deliver amino acids into your blood quickly. Of course, it should be combined with some healthy carbohydrates...
If you are looking for something to use as a meal replacement for during the day, then something like a whey protein concentrate, a soy powder, egg powder, a casein powder or a powder mix (any of the whey, casein, egg, soy powders) is better. This is because it is released at a slower rate you you get a more steady supply of amino acids... You can combine it with things such as fruit, oats, peanut butter/almond butter etc to make a more balanced meal.

I agree with Moody. The thread starter should be more clear. Because, really, there isn't a protein shake that is best for weight/fat loss. Diet is best for weight/fat loss...not a protein shake. Protein shakes are supplements best for SUPPLEMENTING areas of your diet that may be lacking. The use of them will not promote weight/fat loss on their own merit. It's how you use them in conjunction with your diet/exercise that willdetermine the results of weight/fat loss.

Hmmmmm...it is a bit misleading. I assumed that she meant a protein shake that will not hinder fat loss. That is why I offered an example of a protein isolate with no sugar or fat. But yes, I agree with everyone that a protein shake will not "make" you lose weight. I thought she wanted one that didn't have a bunch of crappy stuff in it.

I use ON Nutrition protein powder, I love it but have noticed that less than a half hour of consuming it I am really hungry. I did not know that whey protein is digested faster than other types of protein. Is there a brand of protein powder someone can recommend that would be good to use as a more filling snack?

Things such as fruit, fat-free yoghurt, peanut butter/nut butters, rolled oats or skim milk can be added to give the meal more balance (also, why not have a few sticks of celery or a big green salad on the side - basically calorie free and it will also fill you up)!
