    Non-olympic barbell question?

How much weight can you safely load onto a non-olympic, spin-lock barbell? The bar is about 5-6 feet in length. I will be purchasing it next week.

If it can hold close to 400lbs, then I will be satisfied. I will be using this barbell primarily for squats.

Any guesses guys? I asked the woman at the fitness store but she was some old lady who didnt know ****.....

    Thanks in advance.
