Why not the Marines? Get an age waiver which is easy and your all set. Come on do it!

Whats the procedure for a non-citizen joining the marines? And is it possible for that non-citizen to go on to Annapolis or West Point?
Thanks bro.

Following are the basic requirements for becoming a member of the Coast Guard:
You must be a US citizen or a Resident Alien.
Be between the ages of 17-27 (up to age 32 if attending an "A" school) for Active Duty. (If you are 17, you'll need parental consent.)
Reservists must be between 17-39. Prior service personnel should contact their local recruiter for specific programs.
Have a high school diploma. GEDs are accepted in special circumstances.
Have no more than two dependents.
Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
Pass a military entrance medical exam.
Be the type of person who wants to serve the public on or around the water.

the marines are the worst branch to join because they basically assign you a job...you could spend 4 yrs in the marines as a cook. The army is the best because u can pick your job as long as you test high enough and you can always try out for ranger, green beret delta force etc if you want and you can go to airborne schoo, air assault school sniper school etc.....

Hmm not completely sure, but I know after 4 years active duty you get your citizenship. But the entering a non-resident alien i'm unsure but let me know and I can ask my buddy who is a recruiter.

I'm pretty sure you can join the Marines without citizenship, but I know you cannot go to any service academies, or ROTC without citizenship.

WRONG! You are only ASSIGNED a job if you go in open contract. i picked my job and so did just about ever other Marine out there. Also civilians have taken over the cook jobs so their are very few positions and you run the chow hall mostly. where do you get this bogus info?

Why can't you just get citizenship in America if you want it so bad?
And why do you want to serve in the American Military? Why not the Canadian?

Because i'm a Staff Sergeant in the Marines. So of course i'm going to say Marines. Man i had a 32 year old in my platoon in boot camp and he was fine. You should see some of the guys who make it through boot camp. if i was a DI i'd be failing people left and right and keeping guys in boot camp for a year, their lucky i'm getting out because if I stayed i'm i'd want to be a DI.

My parents might move to America, because they are in the hotel industry, so i might be able to get it that way. And yea, im planning to join the Canadian military, and going on to ROTC. But id prefer the US forces, seeing as in my opinion they make more of a positive difference. Rather than the Canadian's emphasis on conflict avoidance, and peacekeeping, which although admirable doesnt seem to effect the world as much as peaceful positive action.

Yes canada has RMC. If i complete an ROTC course there, and then serve my 4 years manditory, can it translate over to the marines? And yea, when i went and filled out my papers to join the local Artillery reserve regiment, i looked into RMC and got the app papers for when i graduate grade 11.
