Serious question for women with implants

My wife got implants back in June. She is still having problems with certain chest movements. She can do the pec deck and most machine type bench press, but she can't do any bench with free weights (barbell or dumbell). If she trys she has pain on the left side around close to her armpit. The doctor told her it could take up to a year for everything to heal properly. We were wondering if this sounds normal to anyone or if anyone else had something similar or should she go see the surgeon.

i had mine done about 3 years ago and to be honest, as far as weight workouts, i still haven't been able to increase my strength as much as i thought i would have. i had them done under the muscle and when i do chest they flare out to the sides. it is an uncomfortable feeling, but not painful. as far as working out,i would tell her to keep it light and give herself some more time. if she is truely in pain and think there is something wrong, go to the surgeon!

Thanks for the response. I have a feeling that one side is just a little slow to fully heal. I forgot to mention that the left implant was larger than the other (525 for the left vs. 475 in the right) to balance them out so maybe that has something to do with the healing time. We'll keep an eye on it and see.

My fiance got them about 2 years ago, and has had to have them re-done twice since then due to problems. She hasn't been able to work out her upper body ever since she first had them done.

It's been almost a year for mine ( unders ). I bench heavy BB just fine and any chest actually. I do notice a movement but it's normal to feel something unusual but pain is not normal. You may always feel them they are a foreign object inside your body. I wouldn't worry unless it's painful.=-)

I have had mine, under muscle , for 2.5 yrs and never had probs with training chest.

Istarted out fairly easy whne i went back after getting. Never went too heavy the first 1.5 yrs cuz didnt' care to increase chest so most was 40s for DB press

But at my last figure comp in spet the udges said i needed more upper chest so now i am up to 65s for incline press and do 145 bench for reps and haven't seen any probs

    I would talk to dr
